• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Changing Mail Password updates multiple accounts...

We updated to Plesk 9.2.1 a few weeks ago, and over the last few days I've been working with a customer who's mailboxes appear to be randomly changing, sometimes reverting back to old versions.

Anyway, after much investigation, it turns out that when he updated the password, Plesk updated the password for multiple accounts at the same time. But, critically, this only affected SMTP/IMAP/POP - not in Plesk itself. You could log onto Plesk using the e-mail address as the username and the current password, but not via Webmail/SMTP/IMAP/POP.

Looking at a dump of mail_auth_view, you can see the passwords stored differ from the psa database, but I can't find mail_auth_dump to do a restore as a temporary fix.

Is anyone experiencing the same issues or do they know of a possible cause/fix as I'm a little stumped by this one! This has only happened since 9.2.1 and it may be affecting more than one server - only the one confirmed at the moment, with a second being investigated.

Yes, i've run mchk, but even after then, the system will change multiple passwords for an e-mail account when it should only change one. Constantly running mchk is not a pratical solution as it's far too intensive on system resources.

Same problem here ! Did you fix this ?

I found out that it has to do with the aliasses. If you remove the alias from another client (with for example webmaster)than you can create an static email named [email protected] . So avoid aliases ! Alse when you change an exist alias you'll break the db again.

Hope someone knows how to fix this !!!
