We updated to Plesk 9.2.1 a few weeks ago, and over the last few days I've been working with a customer who's mailboxes appear to be randomly changing, sometimes reverting back to old versions.
Anyway, after much investigation, it turns out that when he updated the password, Plesk updated the password for multiple accounts at the same time. But, critically, this only affected SMTP/IMAP/POP - not in Plesk itself. You could log onto Plesk using the e-mail address as the username and the current password, but not via Webmail/SMTP/IMAP/POP.
Looking at a dump of mail_auth_view, you can see the passwords stored differ from the psa database, but I can't find mail_auth_dump to do a restore as a temporary fix.
Is anyone experiencing the same issues or do they know of a possible cause/fix as I'm a little stumped by this one! This has only happened since 9.2.1 and it may be affecting more than one server - only the one confirmed at the moment, with a second being investigated.
