• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 Update #3
Hi everyone,

We are encountering an issue with the SmarterMail integration on two completely separate servers after recent updates.

Environment Details:

  • Plesk Version: 18.0.80 Update 3 (Windows)
  • Mail Server: SmarterMail 16.3 (Installed locally on each server)
Problem Description:SmarterMail itself is functioning normally when accessed directly via its web interface or management console. However, managing or updating email accounts from within the Plesk interface fails on both servers.

When refreshing server components via Tools & Settings > Server Components > Refresh, Plesk detects SmarterMail successfully with no errors. However, making changes to mail accounts in Plesk triggers the following errors across all domains:

  1. Error: Unable to update the mail account properties: Unable update mailbox: Mailbox password changing is not supported
  2. Error: Unable update mailbox: Mailbox is not supported
What we have verified so far:

  1. Direct management inside SmarterMail works without issues.
  2. Server Components refresh in Plesk completes successfully.
  3. The issue occurs identically on two independent servers.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue after recent Plesk updates? Is SmarterMail 16.3 facing compatibility issues with this Plesk version, or is there a fix available?

(I have attached screenshots of the errors for reference.)

Thanks in advance!
