changing plesk hostname via shell

after quite a few weeks of not posting here (due to the fact that plesk worked fine), I now find myself in the following situation:

plesk's hostname is set to x.x.x.x and suddenly this domain isnt available anymore (hoster's domain), I want to change the hostname until the new one is active and running.

I tried the solution listed in faq.plesk.com but that's not working for me.

anyone got a hint as to how I can change the hostname via the shell?

x.x.x.x looks like an IP adress.

Please try the command: hostname
[root@ut-aa4 home]# hostname --help

x.x.x.x was really a hostname, it just happend to include 4 different sections :)

no, in fact - when I was referring to "change via shell" I actually meant how I can do it with the plesk tools, since plesk itself isnt linked just to the normal "hostname tool".

7.5.4 comes with an API to change the hostname and plesk has many shell scripts - so I was hoping someone knew a way around those :)

never found the way to do it, so I waited till the name propagated again :)
