I've seen this issue but no fix for it. My setup:
OpenSuse 10.2, Plesk 8.2.1, bundled Qmail. When I enable the chkrcptto SMTP plugin and try to send mail via my client (KMail), I get the The server responded: "qmail-spp failure: plugins/chkrcptto: child crashed (#4.3.0)" message. This also happens in my mailman logs (the app is unable to send out anything on the lists if the plugin is enabled). I really don't know what the problem might be.
