Client can't log in

Eric Pretorious

Regular Pleskian
I've provisioned the client's second subscription using WHMCS (ver 5.2.2. on CentOS 6.4) but the client is unable to login using the credentials provided by WHMCS.

  1. I've tried reseting the password using Plesk Panel (11.0.9 Update #55) [Subscriptions -> example.com -> Change Hosting Settings].
  2. I've tried reseting the password from the CLI (/usr/bin/passwd).
Neither has worked.

Ideas? Suggestions?

I think that I've gotten confused here. The term "username" has two different contexts in Plesk Panel:

  1. Home -> Subscriptions -> example.com -> Change Hosting Settings

    Changing Hosting Settings of example.com

This is where you change hosting settings of the subscription.

IP addresses on which the website is hosted are network addresses of the website's virtual host...

System user account used to manage files and folders of websites within the subscription.

    Username _________

    Password _________
  2. Home -> Customers -> John Doe -> Change Login Info

Editing Login Info of John Doe

This is where you change the username and password that the customer uses to access their Control Panel.

    Username _________

    Password _________
What makes this extraordinarily confusing is the fact that the same username can be used (and is often used) in both contexts!
