• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Client Migration

I'm getting a new server with plesk 7.5.1, and I plan to migrate clients from an older server that has plesk 6.0. I had a few questions.

1. Does the plesk migration tool transfer email accounts (including emails on server), login and databases?

2. Are SSL Certificates transferred?

3. How reliable is the plesk migration tool?

We've used the migration tool to bring domains across from RaQ550's, other Plesk 7.x machines, and Ensim. So far, it has been very reliable, and a fun timesaver.

Mail accounts come over with no trouble. Databases make it perfectly when going from Plesk to Plesk. Logins and admins are handled well.

We've not yet tried bringing over a site with a SSL cert, so be sure and post how that works out. Should not be a huge issue to transfer over even if it doesn't come in with the migration...
