following a major hard drive failure on our server today i think I need some redundancy...

how do i create a custer of plesk servers with one live server and one backup copy of the server with mysql on a seperate server.

What you need is a RAID configuration on your hard drives... ;)

gee thanks for the that, genius

do i need a processor and ram as well???

already running raid 5

You don't have to be that rude...

You talked about a hard drive failure not a server failure.

In the event o hard drive failure, a RAID system is what will save your data, that's why I gave you that answer.:mad:

@wintech2003:
Raid has nothing to do with backup, it has to do with failure over in case of a hard drive failure. naughtymutt needs a cluster or failure on server level.

Plesk isn't capable of clustering or loadbalancing or failover stuff, i think you need some other solution for that.

We are looking at dropping Plesk in favor of H-Sphere which is far more scalable then Plesk, also you don't have to cross fingers every time when it is update time!

Anyway, it seems that I didn't understand something correct... :eek:

Just think virtualization...;) Suse 10 would do the job...
