  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Composer install and update

I have a couple of composer packages in my app and see this when I click install or update

Neither install nor update seem to change the version number (or install) and Status stays on "Update available". Why is this? or more importantly: how do have Plesk install the latest versions?

Hey, @Johannes Kingma. Could you please confirm what exactly happens when you click on Install/Update? Do you get any particular error, does the process stuck, or nothing happens at all?

Thanks for asking. Nothing happens, really. The version numbers stay the same. That's what puzzles me. Afaics the latest version is installed however.

I interpret the two columns like 1. Check if updates are available and 2. Install the updates. Am I right there?

Yes, you are right. Could you please enable the Plesk debug mode, attempt to start the process again and check if any errors are logged in /var/log/plesk/panel.log? Thanks in advance.

I understand. Unfortunately, I cannot point out what is the exact reason for the issue. If you have the option, please consider submitting a support ticket with our team so they can take a further look.

I have the same issue, it seems like the Composer extension doesn't fetch newest available stable releases.

I turned on Plesk debug mode and tried both composer install and update. No errors and nothing actually happened. The packages stayed exactly the same.

It looks like some kind of UI/cache bug. The correct newest packages are always installed, no matter what the "Update" column says.
