  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Crashed Plesk Panel after Update from Etch to Lenny

Hello everyone!
This is my first post in this forum 'cause I never had a single problem with the Plesk Control Panel for the last 7 years.

Yesterday I updated my dedicated linux server from Debian 4 (etch) to Debian 5 (lenny) and everything was fine. After creating another subdomain in plesk the whole system crashed.. When I try to start Plesk again there's an apache2 config problem with a duplicate alias to the psa icons dir... and the plesk server and drweb service fail while starting...

After spending 8 hours surfing through every logfile you can imagine without finding a single hind (except a ssl-error somewhere which I tried to fix though) I decided to update the whole system again, because the Plesk Update failed due to some incompatible dependencies on psa-billing.

I found a nice tutorial for installing plesk and it says that I should update the system before adding the autoinstaller link to sources.list..

When starting the update it says that 98 packages will be removed including all the psa packages...

My question: Will I loose all my settings (ftp, vhosts, mail, plesk itself) if I remove the packages and reinstall it afterwards?

Any kind of help will be appreciated!

cheers
Tommy
