• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Create slave reverse zone

Hi,
We are an ISP and need to provide secondary (forward and reverse) for clients. I can make the forward slave zone but Plesk won't let me make a reverse zone. Is there a way to do this in Plesk or do I have to make it host OS?

Thanks,
Bill

Thanks Denis.
If I am understanding the KB correctly, this type of zone has to be created in the host OS because Plesk doesn't have a way to manage them. Is this your understanding as well?

Thanks,
Bill

Hello Bill,

Do you mean this:

In case if you wish to use non Plesk server as slave DNS, all DNS zones have to be created on the secondary DNS server in /etc/named.conf?

Yes, in this case DNS zones have to be created on the host OS of the non Plesk server. Plesk really does not have a way to manage them.
