• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Database creation problem

New Pleskian
Hi there,

This morning I installed WP through the Application option in Plesk Panel. Everything worked fine. After a while I deleted it again and now I cannot add another db to the domain.
Following errors appear (in every browser):

"Database name is too long"
"Database username is too long"

as well as password length errors:

DB error.png

This happens even with the 3 letter db names. So something is really not right.

Any suggestions?

Using: Debian 6, Plesk 11.5.30 #24 (Browsers tested: Safari, Chrome).

On the assumption you have not enabled the feature to concatenate the 'customer username' to the db name / username then that is most likely a bug in plesk. And you might have to report that!

Hi Abdi,

Indeed, I have not enabled this. It probably has something to do with the deleting of an App (and the DB created by it) that set something into bug mode.
Where do I report this kind of thing?

Greetings.

Can you confirm, that the database can be created as a test via CLI?
Like "mysql -uadmin -pPASSWORD" and then creating a database?

Not, that mysql is one of the problems....

No, as mentioned in original post: "Using: Debian 6, Plesk 11.5.30 #24 (Browsers tested: Safari, Chrome). "
It's on a Hetzner Linux Server.

;)
