• The APS Catalog has been deprecated and removed from all Plesk Obsidian versions.
Applications already installed from the APS Catalog will continue working. However, Plesk will no longer provide support for APS applications.
  • Please be aware: with the Plesk Obsidian 18.0.78 release, the support for the ngx_pagespeed.so module will be deprecated and removed from the sw-nginx package.

Dedicated Server or Virtual Server

Is there a way to tell if plesk is running on a dedicated server or is it running on a virtual private server?

I purchased a dedicated server with Plesk 7.5 reloaded. But after browsing the SwSoft site I notice they sell other products which would allow my web host to cram me onto a server with a dozen other users and I would never know.

If plesk is running under virtuozzo, you would know firstly due to the filesystem. IIRC your hard drive is something like /dev/vz0 instead of /dev/hda or whatever.

If you run a 'df' via shell it'll say "vzfs" if you're running under Virtuozzo. Alternatively, you could check to see if you have a file called /proc/user_beancounters, or check the kernel version.

It's unlikely they would place you on a VPS as it's so easy to find out.
