default permissions for passwd_db_key & passwd.db

inado1

Basic Pleskian
For some reasons, i did not have the correct user permissions for passwd_db_key & passwd.db in /var/lib/plesk/mail/auth

It produced an error each time i tried to send an email: the error was something like unable to open /var/lib/plesk/mail/auth/passwd.db (Readonly)

I did a chmod on passwd_db_key & passwd.db to 777 and it works but i guess it is not secure to do so.

If someone can check it's own file permissions (640?) & file owner (root:root?) that would be great

thank you.

Of course it's not secure! You are using QMail, right? Which Plesk version?

Just run mchk --fast and it should recreate these files with proper permissions. If it does not, you can remove them and they will be recreated.
