  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question dmarc, spf, dkim setup problem

PeterKi

Regular Pleskian
Server operating system version
Ubuntu 22.04
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.68 #2
I have 2 domains on my linux vserver with plesk obsidian 18.0.68 Update #2.
SPF, DKIM adn DMARC are enabled in the mail server settings and in the domains.
I don't have set an external DNS server.
So I think, I am very much on the defaults.
When I try the dmarcian.com/domain-checker, it shows "We were unable to find a DMARC record" and neither DMARC, SPF or DKIM records are found.
What am I missing here?
Do I need to configure something special on my server or on the domain hoster dns to get these security features working?2025-03-22 10_39_14-Settings - Plesk Obsidian 18.0.68 — Mozilla Firefox.png

I'm guessing your domain is landango.de? I looked it up and your DNS is managed by host-on.

Because your DNS is being hosted by host-on (which is probably your registrar) you will need to add the DNS entries manually into the the DNS settings in host-on. You can grab the settings you need from within the DNS settings in Plesk.

Thanks for the clarification.
I added the appropriate records to my domain registrar DNS and now dmarcian reports everything as set.
Alas, my test mails to my gmail account are not rejected anymore but still go into the spam folder.
Maybe I need to wait a while until my server's reputation with google gets updated.
