I'm new to DNS and SPF records, so I'm still learning about them.
From what I've read, I can add an SPF record by simply typing in the record and adding it as a TXT record with Plesk.
For example, I would add something like
domain.com would be v=spf1 a mx ?all
mail.domain.com would be v=spf1 a -all
Correct? To do this, I just added a new TXT record, either left the first field blank or typed mail in it, and for the record I added whichever I needed to.
However, it didn't seem to work.
I wanted to go look at the zone file directly and see what was going on and try to understand it, but I'm not exactly sure which file is the zone file.
From looking around, I thought it would be named.conf. That seems to have some settings for the domains, but I don't think that is it. Which file on the server would have all these dns records?
Does anyone know if I added the spf record correctly for the given domain? It still fails when I run a test at dnsstuff.com, so I don't think it's right.
Thanks in advance.
