  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

DNS/Bind Serial No Format

Hi,

Is there some way I can force plesk to format the Bind/DNS Serial Number format to YYYYMMDD## (which is used by many people as an unwritten standard).

I have problems transferring existing domains to plesk as the plesk generated serial number is much lower than the old serial numbers which was in the format YYYYMMDD##

Please help!

Actually you can solve your issue by clearing slave DNS zone entries to let master update slave from scratch. If you're using MS DNS then backup files from c:\windows\system32\dns\ and remove c:\windows\system32\dns\*.dns files related to secondary zones. If you're using BIND then backup all files from %path_to_bind%\var\ and remove files related to secondary zones. Possible it will solve your issue.
