• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

DNS Settings not taking effect

Hello,
I have a VPS account with Plesk 8.6 and any changes that I make to the DNS settings in Plesk cp do not have any effect. There is also a separate 'Parallels Business Automation' control panel (or hspc I think?) and it has another dns management area (System > Domain Management). The changes I make here DO take effect but how can I set it up so that the DNS changes I make in Plesk 8.6 will take effect?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Best Regards,
Aidan in New Zealand

AidanC,

All DNS changing on Plesk side will be synchronized to PBAS (former HSPc) nameservers. It is correct behaviour. If you will change DNS records via PBAS CP, it should be overwritten by Plesk after next periodic synchronization process. Therefore if there are not any changes on PBAS nameservers after modification DNS records on Plesk side - this mean that synchronization doesn't work there and it should be checked on PBAS side.

That makes sense. Thanks for the response Igor!
