    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS.

Question Does Plesk Obsidian require MariaDB 10.3?

Paul Larson

Basic Pleskian
..or can it work with 10.2?

Here is my current setup:

Centos 7.7,
Plesk 17.8.11,
MariaDb 10.2.3

====
Attempting the latest Onyx updates (before attempting Obsidian), I received this warning:

MariaDB-server-10.2.30-1.el7.centos.x86_64.rpm | 24 MB 00:00
Running Transaction Check
Error in PREIN scriptlet in rpm package MariaDB-server-10.2.30-1.el7.centos.x86_64
MariaDB-server-10.1.30-1.el7.centos.x86_64 was supposed to be removed but is not!
====

I'm assuming the RPM/repo solution (specifying 10.3 instead of the current 10.2) will allow that upgrade to continue.

I guess I'm uncertain of the order of operations:

* Leave Maria at 10.2, and try to upgrade to Obsidian
* Upgrade Maria to 10.3 (for Obsidian), unless that breaks Plesk Onyx

Thanks!

Plesk Obsidian supports MariaDB versions 5.5 to 10.3.14.

Plesk Onyx on the other hand supports MariaDB versions 5.5 to 10.2.

Keep the MariaDB 10.2 and upgrade to Obsidian. Then you can upgrade the MariaDB to 10.3.

My suggestion would be to keep the MariaDB 10.2. Upgrading to 10.3 may caused issue. Not the Plesk. MariaDB itself.

This is a different issue,

MariaDB-server-10.2.30-1.el7.centos.x86_64.rpm | 24 MB 00:00
Running Transaction Check
Error in PREIN scriptlet in rpm package MariaDB-server-10.2.30-1.el7.centos.x86_64
MariaDB-server-10.1.30-1.el7.centos.x86_64 was supposed to be removed but is not!
