I've read everything I can find about Migration Manager (can't find 9.21 PMM docs) but never used it. Before I use it to move a busy site to a new server I'd like to know exactly what it does, if anything to the existing site.
I've got two servers running 9.21, old is Centos 4.4 and new is Centos 5.2.
Does the migration manager "make a copy" of the site, including databases, that can be tested on the new server (using the new server IP), or does the process change things on the old server that would take the public site down if the process fails or some settings or required server apps are not available on the new server?
Hope that makes sense, just want to know if Migration Manager is safe to use on a public site that I don't want to blow up.
