Domain aliases can't do a 301 redirect

One of the very useful features in Plesk 11.5 is the option when adding a new domain alias to "Redirect with the HTTP 301 code".

However, that option is not available if web hosting is disabled (e.g. because it's hosted on a different server, which might not be able to do the 301 redirects).

So I'm forced to enable hosting on the main domain in order to avail of that option.

Hi jj05,

You can use a domain with "standard forwarding" hosting type for that. You can specify type of redirect there (301|302)
It will redirect web clients to another domain, which is not hosted in Plesk:
