Domain aliases limited for domain?

Hello,

I'm trying to add 1300+ aliases to one single domain that uses virtual hosting. For speed I'm using domainmng --add-alias to add the domains. Later on I add the domain aliases in the psa db.
When starting the addition of aliases everything seems to be ok, however when it passes a certain number the virtual hosting of the domain fails, and all falls apart. I don't know the exact number at which it happens, however it looks like domain aliases are limited for one single domain? Anybody got a clue what going on here?

Cheers,

First of all, it is not right to add domain aliases to Plesk database.

Several records are added to the database and other reconfigurations are made. Modifying the configs is not correct in this case.

You should use the Creation Utility to add all these domain_aliases.

However, IIS scalability is limited, which might cause it to misbehave.

It might be a better idea to perform the following to have all the domains working correctly without creating all the domain aliases:

1. Create A type DNS records for all the domains pointing to one IP address.

2. Create one domain in Plesk which holds the content for all the aliases. Configure the hosting on one Exclusive IP address

3. Go to Plesk -> Server -> IP addresses -> Click the number in the column "hosting" corresponding to the IP of the aliases.

Select the default domain for the IP address -- the domain with aliases.

With this configuration you will have all the http requests go to one physical domain.

If you want to have mail services working in alias mode, this might require creating aliases for mail.
