  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Downtime period while upgrading from 11.0.9 to 11.5.30

New Pleskian
Hi,

For starters, i'm pretty new with Plesk. :)

Since a few months i get a message in my system overview that there is an update available (11.5.30)
This Plesk is running on a Ubuntu server and it's the only server i have running atm.

I'm a little bit scared to start the upgrade and lose all my website running on it if something is going wrong. :(

Can someone tell me how long this upgrade takes? What's the downtime of my server?
Is there something i need to do upfront?
Can i rollback if anything goes wrong? :)

Thanks in advance!

I'm not an expert.

Its better to take a full server backup before you proceed with the upgrade.

Rollback no.

how long this upgrade takes? depend on your server speed & download speed.

What's the downtime of my server? no downtime.

Tnx for your answer PriyanA!

I have a pretty fast dedicated server hosted in a DC.
I asked this question because i want to know if my websites will be unavailable during this update and if so for how long (approximately)
Is it around 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1/2 day, ... :)

Like i said I'm no expert in this..

I think .. There is no down time. while the Panel will update and websites will run as normal (maybe little slower). You might have to restart the server once.

I myself have a servers running 11.0.9, 10, I get this message to update too but never did it. Many Websites are there. As long as there is no security treats. I'm happy with 11.0.9 and 10

I bought a another server from my provider, came with 11.0.9, as soon as i got it. i upgrade it to 11.5 :) took me about 15 mins.
