• Hi, Pleskians! We are running a UX testing of our upcoming product intended for server management and monitoring.
We would like to invite you to have a call with us and have some fun checking our prototype. The agenda is pretty simple - we bring new design and some scenarios that you need to walk through and succeed. We will be watching and taking insights for further development of the design.
If you would like to participate, please use this link to book a meeting. We will sent the link to the clickable prototype at the meeting.
  • Our UX team believes in the in the power of direct feedback and would like to invite you to participate in interviews, tests, and surveys.
To stay in the loop and never miss an opportunity to share your thoughts, please subscribe to our UX research program. If you were previously part of the Plesk UX research program, please re-subscribe to continue receiving our invitations.

Dr. Web Cron Daemon query

bigblue

Basic Pleskian
I'm running 8.6 on a Virtual server. Dr. Web appears to default to updating the virus database every 30 minutes and is filling up my email inbox because of this into the bargain. Apologies, but I'm new at this! Can anyone advise how I go about changing this update frequency - possibly to just a daily task? Do I have to set up a separate cronjob for this to override the defaults - and what file would I run to do this - or is there a better way to achieve this?
Thanks

Would also like to know

I would also like to know, I have turned off the Crontab tasks of drweb and it still updates ever 30 minutes. It does seem like we can change this.
Thanks for any help!
Brad

You can just go to Server -> Scheduled Tasks and correct time for Drweb updater there.

Does not do the job for me

One would think that by Editing the Crontab task of drweb would change it.
however, in my case Linux / FedoraCore8 / Plesk 9.2.2 --- It has no effect.
DrWeb is still is trying to updating every 30 minutes. I can see this by looking at the logs.

It is happening on at least 2 of my servers.
