  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Drupal installation issue

Jim Maivald

New Pleskian
I am using Plesk to manage my Virtual Private Server. I have installed Drupal on several of my websites and ran into a problem. I have used WordPress several times with no issue, but when I install Drupal, Plesk puts it into a subdirectory of /Drupal/ This prevents it from running in the root directory of the site.

In WordPress you simply copy the home page into the root and change a setting in the configuration and everything functions properly.

But I can't find similar instructions for Drupal. Everything tells me to install the app into the root directory. But when I move the installation into the root, Plesk no longer sees the installation and cannot update it or manage it.

So, does anyone know a way to make Drupal work from root without moving the installation? Or, set Plesk to install Drupal into my site root directory from scratch?

FYI, I am totally new to Drupal and not an advanced user. Thanks

What is your Plesk version? In Plesk 12.5 the first installed APS will be installed to domain's root directory by default. Also you can choose "custom installation" option and define root directory for installation.

12.0.18 Update #71

I've got a VPS with several subscriptions and multiple domains. I want to use Drupal on about 4 of those domains.

Have you tried to use "Custom installation"?
What about upgrade to latest 12.5 version?

Jim,

Thanks. But as soon as I had 12.5 installed it was easy to reinstall Drupal and get it up and running in the root directory!

This has been plaguing me for months now.
