E-Mail Rules

Stefan Becker

Basic Pleskian
Hi,

many users ask me for rules at the server for their mails. The rules in horde works only by using it. But when they use a mail client and more then one client.

Will you include the framework ingo from horde in new plesk versions?

When do you plan to offer web dav?

Stefan

Stefan,

You can use following method for enabling WebDAV, for example.
And we have psa-ingo package for Horde webmail in Plesk distribution kit. Di you tried to use it?

Hi Igor,

ok this is a workaround for one or two users with webdav, but when we have many users, it's very funny ;-)

How can i use the Plesk distribution kit? Do you have an manuel for it? Work ingo at the the normal plesk installtion?

Stefan

When you go to http://www.parallels.com/download/plesk9/ you can download Plesk distribution kit there. And you can find and install ingo there. Which documentation you want? It is special ingo package for using with Plesk. Just install it and use this feature in Horde.

Ok, apt-get say, that psa-ingo is installed. So where can i configurate the rules on the mail server? I mean not the rules in horde.

I think that you may read carefully ingo docs now for starting rules configuring. For example, look at this possible configuration.

Ok. The first step is http://www.natecarlson.com/2009/01/06/using-procmail-with-plesk/ ? Right?

So, when i start the script, i get this failure:

test:/home/test# /usr/local/sbin/add-procmail-rules.pl
/usr/local/sbin/add-procmail-rules.pl: line 11: use: command not found
/usr/local/sbin/add-procmail-rules.pl: line 14: syntax error near unexpected token `$topdir'
/usr/local/sbin/add-procmail-rules.pl: line 14: `my($topdir) = "/var/qmail/mailnames";'

How can i solve it? And how can i configurate, that this script start by new users?

Ok Step 2:

http://www.natecarlson.com/2009/01/07/using-procmail-with-plesk-rules-via-ingo/

I can login with ftp, but ingo don't write in .procmailrc , or is that the failure form step 1?

Stefan

Stefan,

I'm not familiar with ingo and I hope that more experienced guys will help you with it. But I think that you may read docs first here

/usr/share/doc/psa-ingo-1.1.5/README
/usr/share/doc/psa-ingo-1.1.5/INSTALL

Run 'rpm -ql psa-ingo' for listing of this package. Maybe it will help you.

are there any news on this topic? I would also be interested in using ingo as filter system for our server, but outside of horde webmail, because I want the mails being filtered right after they are submitted.

Has anyone gathered experience with ingo?

Cheers
