  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

New Pleskian
Hi,

I've problems to login to any mailservice (imap, pop, webmail, ...). The server don't accept my password. This problem appears approx one time a day and mostly fixed after reboot.
My idea is a problem with the courier-authdaemon. For example, when I try to login to horde webmail I got these message in /var/log/mail.log:

May 7 14:50:01 plesk6 courier-imapd: Connection, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1]
May 7 14:50:01 plesk6 courier-authdaemon: received auth request, service=imap, authtype=login
May 7 14:50:01 plesk6 courier-authdaemon: authpsa: trying this module
May 7 14:50:01 plesk6 courier-authdaemon: authpsa: sysusername=popuser, sysuserid=110, sysgroupid=31, homedir=/var/qmail/mailnames/funtasticsix.de/manuel, [email protected], fullname=<null>, maildir=<null>, quota=<null>, options=<null>
May 7 14:50:01 plesk6 courier-authdaemon: Authenticated: sysusername=popuser, sysuserid=110, sysgroupid=31, homedir=/var/qmail/mailnames/funtasticsix.de/manuel, [email protected], fullname=<null>, maildir=<null>, quota=<null>, options=<null>
May 7 14:50:01 plesk6 courier-authdaemon: authpsa: auth_psa_common() callback returned 0

This indicate that my password is correct because when I try to login with a wrong password the logfile look like this:

May 7 14:52:14 plesk6 courier-imapd: Connection, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1]
May 7 14:52:14 plesk6 courier-authdaemon: received auth request, service=imap, authtype=login
May 7 14:52:14 plesk6 courier-authdaemon: authpsa: trying this module
May 7 14:52:14 plesk6 courier-authdaemon: authpsa: password for account '[email protected]' is wrong
May 7 14:52:14 plesk6 courier-authdaemon: authpsa: sysusername=popuser, sysuserid=110, sysgroupid=31, homedir=<null>, address=<null>, fullname=<null>, maildir=<null>, quota=<null>, options=<null>
May 7 14:52:14 plesk6 courier-authdaemon: authpsa: TEMPFAIL - no more modules will be tried
May 7 14:52:14 plesk6 courier-imapd: LOGIN FAILED, method=PLAIN, ip=[::ffff:127.0.0.1]
May 7 14:52:14 plesk6 courier-imapd: authentication error: Input/output error

currently the problem stay also after rebooting many times :(
Anybody an idea or the same problem?

I'm running Plesk 11.5.30 Update #44 on Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS

BR,
Manuel

Problem solved.

/var/qmail/mailnames is mounted via NFS and for some reason the time from NFS Server and Plesk Server differs for more than 30sec. and causes a error.
