We have received the following email from Fasthosts.co.uk regarding our dedicated Windows server.
Obviously a complete rebuild of the server to Plesk 10 from Plesk 9 with 30 odd websites installed is a major job, which ideally we want to avoid doing.
Can anyone suggest a suitable quick fix/ patch we can apply without having to upgrade our server to Plesk 10? - thus elliminating loads of downtime and potential problems with migrating all the data back onto the upgraded server?

Last year we alerted all customers using Plesk 9 about a critical vulnerability that Parallels (the makers of Plesk) found in some versions of their control panel.
Worldwide, there are still a number of servers using vulnerable versions of Plesk 9 on the internet, and these are currently being targeted by hackers.
During a recent security audit, we have noticed that your server appears to still be using Plesk 9 and may be a target for malicious activity.
In addition, Support for Plesk 9 has entered an Extended Support phase, and will cease to be supported on 9th June 2013. After this date exploits or vulnerabilities will cease to be patched.
Note: To protect and maintain the quality of services we provide to our customers we reserve the right to suspend compromised servers as stated in our Acceptable use policy.
In light of this, we strongly recommend that you rebuild your server with the latest version of Plesk in order to protect your server, your customers, and to ensure you benefit from continued security updates and support for the following years.
The process itself requires a little planning, but can be achieved with little downtime.
Step 1: Back up your data - all data will be deleted from your server during the upgrade, so we strongly recommend you back up your data before commencing with the upgrade.
Step 2: Rebuild your server with the latest Plesk Control panel
Step 3: Restore your data onto your new control panel.
