Enable PHP PDO for MySQL

Hi. Im a Newbie and i would like to enable the PHP PDO for MySQL. It should be possible with a SSH Command, right? Should i only go to the PHP5 folder and execute somthing like "./configure --enable-pdo"? It would be great if you can help me... Thanks!
