enabling ipv6

gggino

New Pleskian
Is there any particular procedure to add ipv6 to my VPS with plesk 11?

My provider has assigned me a block of 65,536 continuous IPv6 addresses( a /112)

Should I just add them using the panel like I would do with ipv4 addresses and that's it?

I tried to add tem by using the control panel. This was not enought, As IPv6 was not configured at all on my system.
I'm running CentOS 6, but I found a guide telling me how to add the default IPv6 gateway, and now the IPv6 connetctivity works fine, except one thing: DNS

DNS over IPv6 seems not working. The IPv6 DNS report generated by http://network-tools.webwiz.co.uk/ says that DNS servers don't answer NS queries, SOA record queries.

What should I do to fix this problem?

This is a report from one of my websites on the VPS

OK Direct Parent Check The Parent DNS Server [d0.info.afilias-nst.org] has information for your direct parent zone info.
OK Name Servers Listed at Parent The Parent DNS Server [d0.info.afilias-nst.org] has your Name Servers listed.

The first step in locating your domain is to ask your Parent Name Servers (if not already known) for your Name Servers. If your Name Servers are not listed you can not be found.
OK Glue at Parent The Parent DNS Server [d0.info.afilias-nst.org] is sending out Glue.
OK Name Server AAAA records All your Name Servers have AAAA Records (IPv6 Addresses) listed at Parent DNS Server.

AAAA Records are required for your Hostnames to ensure that other DNS Servers can reach your DNS Servers. There will be problems if your DNS Servers do not have AAAA Records.

Info MX Records MX Records obtained by local DNS Server:-

mail.mydomain.com [Preference: 10] [TTL: 86400 - 1 Day]
OK AAAA Records for mail.mydomain.com Your AAAA Records for mail.mydomain.com [Preference: 10] are listed below:-

OK MX Records with CName Records Your MX Records that are listed do not use CName Records.
Warn Multiple MX Records You only have 1 MX Record.

If your Mail Server is unreachable or not available then email may not get delivered! Most mail servers will retry to send email for a couple of hours giving you a short time to fix the problem.
OK Duplicate MX records Your MX Records do not have duplicate IP Addresses.
Error Reverse DNS (PTR) Your AAAA Records (IPv6 Addresses) of your Mail Servers listed below are missing Reverse DNS (PTR) Records:-

mail.mydomain.com [aaaa:bbbb:cccc:dddd:eeee::f]

Reverse DNS is required for all your Mail Servers. Many Mail Servers will reject emails from Mail Servers that do not have Reverse DNS Records. Contact your ISP and ask them to create a PTR Record for the IP Address of your mail server
OK SPF Record Your SPF Record for mydomain.com is:-

v=spf1 +a +mx -all

Having an SPF Record will prevent spammers from abusing your domain. Your SPF Record is not checked to see if it is correct only that you have one, see www.openspf.org for more information.
www AAAA Record (IPv6)
Info www AAAA Record A Records where found for www.mydomain.com. The results shown below where not supplied by your Name Servers since www.mydomain.com is in it's own zone:-

www.mydomain.com [CNAME Record] [mydomain.com] [TTL: 86400 - 1 Day]
mydomain.com [AAAA Record] [aaaa:bbbb:cccc:dddd:eeee::f] [TTL: 86400 - 1 Day] [Netherlands] NETHERLANDS
Warn www CName Your website www.mydomain.com has a CName Record.

Your DNS Servers do not return any A Records (IPv4 Addresses), which causes an extra DNS Lookup, which will slightly delay connections to your website.
