  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Enabling mail service on domain as Reseller/Customer bugged

PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE

Plesk Obsidian, Version 18.0.69 Update #2
Debian 12.10

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

The Mail service of a subscription/domain cannot be enabled (properly) by a Reseller or Customer, if it got disabled by a server administrator (or Service Plan)
See the following comic strip...

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1a) create subscription where "Service Plan" has "Mail service" set to "Disabled for incoming mail"
or
1b) disable the "Mail service" of a subscription as an Administrator user and/or via CLI

2) try to enable "Mail service" as a Reseller or Customer of that subscription

ACTUAL RESULT

a) controls to enable Mail service are not visible on method 1 (to enable Mail Service)
b) controls to enable Mail service have no effect on method 2 (to enable Mail Service)

EXPECTED RESULT

a) controls to set Mail service to "Enabled" / "Disabled for incoming mail" / "Not configured" should be visible/available to Reseller/User
b) using the drop-down menu controls to set Mail service to "Enabled" should work right away and not only after using the "Not configured" option once

ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This bug annoys the **** out of us for many many years now (as we tend to disable the mail service in all Service Plans per default)
As far as I can remember, this problem already got reported once by someone like 10 years ago....but nothing came out of it?!?

Hopefully this can get fixed anytime soon
