English British Language Pack

Seeing as I can't find an easy way to change the language selection to remove the 'United States' bit ... I've decided to look at creating an Enlish (British) langhuage pack ..... If anyone's interested in sharing the work load please let me know ....

Minor differences in grammer and spelling .... more important is clients think they are getting U.S. based servers or we a reseller for a U.S. company, which they don't like, it would just looks better all round to have UK (British) language for us .....

I agree i am from the UK and find alot of customers questioning their packages/services! would be great if u could keep me upto-date with the language pack!

I'd be interested in this also - please post when you have got your pack sorted! Surely if other european language packs are available a British one should also be made available.

.... I had been told that SWSoft Support can chnage the language selection dropdown, does anyone know this to be the case or have a solution ... this would be an alternative solution for now ???

I agree, it may not seem like a lot of difference to some, but the differences that are there are quickly picked up by customers and they don't tend to like the idea that they are buying a service from an American company.

Now, I don't really know what is involved with creating a language pack but would gladly help in whatever way I can. If you send me an email energylevel and I'll get back to you about it

Latest on this, I asked SWSoft Support if they could possibly change the language selection to read just 'English' instead of English (United States) they came back to me saying the could NOT do this, although I feel sure they could.

On creation of language packs, apparently there is a tool scheduled for release in February to do this, I'd really like something much sooner and it's likely February could turn into sometime later in the year. I emailed the department involved in with language packs again, asking for a list of all files in the language packs, so I could pull copies of the U.S. files from my server and start converting to English (British) but I haven't heard anything further back from them.

It might be a worthwhile exercise for everyone to contact SWSoft support and express their interest/ request for a British language option, or at least to change the language selection to read just 'English' instead of English (United States) as a temporary solution.

I have looked in all the files from the english language pack and was unable to find anything from them

afaik rpm -ql <package> will list all the files in that package.

My country has been deleted, it appears they only speek my language in the states....

I was waiting for SWSoft to get back to me with a full list/pack of the English (United States) files so at least I could begin editing them to English (British), unfortunately no one at SWSoft has got back to me .... I will be trying again, what I suggest everybody does it contact SWSoft, the more they realise there is a demand for this the more likely they might be pushed into some action....
