Hi,

After upgrade from 12.0.18 to 12.5.30, I got this error on first request on admin plesk page to "Tools and settings" menu.

This problem is present at least on 10 servers, all plesk functions look like working fine.
I haven't a list of operating system where problem occurs for now, I will list for new case I will see...

Does anyone have the same problem ?
Does someone already have a solution ?

Hello,

Try to reinstall updates with the following command:

/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller --select-product-id plesk --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --install-component base

@OSG,

It should not be an "locale related" issue, can you confirm that by switching to another language (en-US) and trying to reproduce the error?

Regards....

Hi,
Problem confirmed with Ubuntu too:
CPU Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2683 v3 @ 2.00GHz (1 core(s))
Version Plesk v12.5.30_build1205150826.19 os_Ubuntu 14.04
OS Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS

Same problem with language (en-US) select by default.

Command: /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller --select-product-id plesk --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --install-component base
Completed but same problem

I have the same problem on a test server I'm using, so I can do lot of tests ! ;)

@OSG,

Well, potential root causes of the problem that can be excluded:

- a locale related issue
- an upgrade (from Plesk 12.0.18 to Plesk 12.5.30) related issue
- an OS related issue (note that the problem should not occur at all, neither on Ubuntu nor on CentOS)

and the link in Plesk to "Tools & Settings" should be https://<domain or hostname>:8443/admin/server/tools?context=tools (independent of the Plesk version, by the way).

So, I am partially at a loss, since the major causes of the problem are excluded already.

By the way, did you clean your browser cache? Do this and try again (amongst other reasons, this would result in a more proper analysis of the problem).

Do you have the Plesk fileserver extension installed? Please let me know, even if you had it installed and currently not anymore.

Did you try to run the "plesk repair all" command already? Please be carefull with this, do this on the test server (not on the production server).

Can you also provide the autoinstaller3.log file? This file is to be found in the directory /var/log/plesk/install.

I am pretty sure that something awfull (and something surprising) happened at installation time, so let´s have a look at that.

Regards.....

@OSG,

Another question: do you use a rewrite (of any kind) to allow or get access to the Plesk panel interface? If so, can you post the rewrite and how it is implemented?

Regards....

Hi,

Well problem is ONLY after upgrade from 12.0.18.
(I can't test directly with install of 12.5.30, but suspect problem is present too).

I try install plesk file server
Reboot server
I change browser
Problem still present.

plesk repair all
Problem still present.

Log file too big....
ls -la autoinstaller3.log.txt
-rw------- 1 vince vince 3718226 janv. 6 19:54 autoinstaller3.log.txt

More recommendations ?

Best regards
Vince

@OSG,

Try to present me with relevant parts of the autoinstaller3.log file.

In the meantime, I hope that someone from Plesk Team can have a look at your peculiar issue......

Hello,

/smb is requested in Power user view.

Try to switch to between views, for example to Service provider view, then to Power User view, or in other order(depends on what view is used now)

Also reinstall license, as it may have locked view(as Web Admin)

# /usr/local/psa/bin/poweruser --on
# /usr/local/psa/bin/poweruser --off

Hi,

Right for server with licence more than 10 domain, switch to the "Vue Fournisseur de services" solve error message.
But for lower licence case:
root@XxXxX:~# /usr/local/psa/bin/poweruser --off
Unable to switch to the Service Provider view due to license restrictions.

Best regards
Vince

Here autoinstaller extrat fiile (in gz format remane in zip format).

I need to correct my answer:

"Right for server with licence more than 10 domain, switch to the "Vue Fournisseur de services" solve error message."

Solve error message only when (not power used view is activate).
When switch back to power view, error return....

Have you some more advise ?

@OSG,

Well, you have a lot of (major and minor) issues in your autoinstaller log file.

There is one that can be related to your issue: am I correct that you have installed a custom skin (ext-heavy-metal-skin)?

There is another issue with an extension package (ext-plesk-migrator): please delete that extension (it is not necessary, Migrator is part of the core Plesk 12.5.30 package).

In short, do the following:

a) remove extensions (the custom skin and the Plesk Migrator extension) via the Plesk Panel, (and)

b) use SSH and

- check the contents of /root/.autoinstaller/options.ini: it can be empty, but if it is not, just post the contents
- go to directory /opt/psa/admin/sbin and run ./autoinstaller (and toggle some irrelevant components on and off, before proceeding)

and, finally, give the log output of (only) the last installation (i.e. the last part of the autoinstaller log file, concerning the latest run of autoinstaller).

Afterwards, you can check whether the issue still occurs, but I think there is a huge chance that your problem has disappeared.

Hope this helps!

Regards....

Hi,

So extensions are now uninstalled.
/root/.autoinstaller/options.ini is empty
File of last autoinstaller install in attach.

Problem still present, more ideas ?

Best regards
Vince

@OSG,

No thanks, I certainly hope that we can solve the issue. Any "like" would be appreciated, if (and only if) the final solution is found.

From the autoinstaller log, I can conclude that a lot of previous "error notifications" are absent, implying that the investigation boils down to a specific point (or two).

It seems to be the case that your locale setting is causing problems.

If I am not mistaken, it is the locale setting of the server: you can run "cat /etc/default/locale" to have a look at the default locale of the server.

Note that you can configure the locale settings for a SSH session to be different from the server´s default locale settings, which should be handy in your case.

However, let´s focus on the current problem.

Can you

a) change the default locale setting of the server to en_US, by running the command: update-locale LANG=en_US.utf8
b) run the autoinstaller again, this time actually installing some component,
c) present the autoinstaller log again in the form of a txt file (note that a formatted text would be much appreciated, otherwise it is rather inconvenient to read)

By the way, note that the command: cat autoinstaller3.log > testrun.log would give you a formatted text file with the name testrun (you can choose any filename).

Hope to hear from you soon.

@OSG / Vince,

Nice to hear that all the efforts helped (and thanks for the like).

I will report the issue to Plesk Team, as soon as I have mapped all scenario´s (in which the issue occurs) and causes (there are many combinations of locale settings possible, each of them can cause a conflict, similar to that of yours) AND identified the lines of code responsible for the Plesk GUI error (if it is possible to find them).

By the way, thanks for the elaborate (final) report: it helps a lot!

Hi,
Finally problem is still present (know affected systems: debian8 ubuntu14 and windows 2012 R2 Standard Ed.)
Odin guys open an bug few days ago for this problem: PPPM-4187
"The issue with the user experience will be fixed in next Plesk version (or probably included in one micro update)."
At this moment the workaround they gave me is not working.
Best regards
Vince
PS: Errors in the Plesk panel:
"Error: Invalid URL was requested."
"Erreur: Une URL incorrecte a été demandée."

@OSG,

Well, that was "quick" ........that creation of the PPPM-4187 bug.

Anyway, can you give me the work-around (please start a private conversation!)

After that, I can have a look at the reason why the work-around is not working (normally, this should work, so I am curious why it doesn´t on your system).

Looking forward to your private reaction!

Regards....
