• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

error adding domain

Hello,

I have bought the domain and it is pointing to my name server but I get this error when I try and add a domain.

The domain name "Domain.com" resolves to the IP address None. Your Web site is assigned the IP address "IP". If your Web site does not open in a Web browser when you refer to it by its domain name, go to the DNS management screen (Domains > Domain name > DNS) and change the properties of the A resource record: assign the IP address "IP" to the domain name "domain.com"

has anyone had this problem before.

Hello,

Does your domain actually resolve to any IP address?

Parallels Plesk usually displays this warning if IP address set in domain hosting preferences (Domains > domain name > Setup) is not same as IP address domain resolves to.

Well thats what I;m trying to do. I am new to this and I am trying to add the domain and thats the error I get. Is there something I am missing before this step? I have bought the domain and the name servers are pointing to the IP of the control panel.

go to the CP wherever you have purchased your domain and set the dns server to ns.domain.com. If it is a .uk domain you will have to supply 2 dns servers. You may also need to supply the ip address if the name server is the same as the domain.

Tne go into the domain dns setting in plesk and ensure they are the same. You should see these records...

Host Record type Value
<domain>. NS ns.<domain>.
<domain>. A <ip>
<domain>. MX (10) mail.<domain>.
<domain>. TXT v=spf1 +a +mx -all
<ip> / 24 PTR <domain>.
ftp.<domain>. CNAME <domain>.
mail.<domain>. A <ip>
ns.<domain>. A <ip>
webmail.<domain>. A <ip>

appologies for partial post

These are faily minimul and you may find you have other setting but make sure you have all the above.

again, make sure the same ns.<domain>.com is set as your name server with your registrar (you may need to register this NS with them first but most registrsars make this easy enough)
