• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Error Plesk Nameserver Service

Hello,

I am receiving the following error when trying to start the Plesk Nameserver Service from the Plesk App on a Windows 2003 server.

"error 997 at start service named: overlapped i/o operation is in progress"

In the plesk web admin, I cannot add or change domain hosting options. It gives the following error:

"dnsmng failed

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Microsoft DNS server is disabled.

Thanks,

Edit your

C:\Program Files\SWsoft\Plesk\dns\etc\named.conf file

and look right down the bottom to see if anythings out of place

This file gets messed up, reportedly only when you close your browser / browser crashes in the middle of creating a domain.

I've been unable to find the cause or replicate, but the fix was to make sure the syntax of domains in this file are correct, and restart named through the plesk taskbar util.

Cheers,
Sean.
