• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Occasionally I am having the POP3 & SMTP services stopped due to inexplicable causes (usually when there is an "out of memory" sitiation). I would like to have Plesk email me when this happens, so I can restart it. Actually, I think this event is trigger wheneve any service is stopped, correct?

Also is it possible to add script so to restart those particular services automatically througn some script? My guess is that it could cause a loop if that service repeatedly fails. Is this possible.

Is there another mechanism to be notified when a service is stopped? How about when server is down? I do have monitoring (free ones) for just key domains, but to monitor POP3 & SMTP there is a cost? Any other suggestions?

Thanks

I'm not sure about mail notification but each Windows service has option for automatic restart after service fail in properties of service. As I know it is disabled by default.
BTW, there is possibility for Run Program and it can be used for mail notification.
