• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question External SMTP Server Oauth plans?

Quinten

Regular Pleskian
Server operating system version
Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS
Plesk version and microupdate number
Plesk Obsidian 18.0.69
Hello,

Right now we have the external SMTP server setup via smtp.office365.com and basic auth.
Since this is retiring in september this year, are there any plans of adding Oauth 2.0 to this feature?

Kind Regards,
Quinten

If you're using Microsoft 365 Exchange Online, I think the better option would be to create a connector (Exchange admin center > Mail flow > Connectors) having it come from your org's email server to and very by IP address, then you can configure Plesk to relay to the MX record that you were given by Microsoft with no username and password to allow the relay to happen. This is how I have a lot of my setup for relaying emails and works fine.

More information about mail flow connectors can be found at Configure mail flow using connectors in Exchange Online
