  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Failed domain creation. Unable to update domain data. Unable to restore the DNS zone.

New Pleskian
Hi,

I have a VPS running Plesk 11.x and yesterdady I tried adding a new domain to my subscription and received this error:

Error: Unable to update domain data: Unable to restore the DNS zone: an error occurred while adding the DOMAINNAME IN A DOMAINNAME record: Incorrect DNS record values were specified.

I have one subscription and under that a few domains. I've not had any DNS issues before so I'm a little stumped as to where to start looking. I suspect DNS template issues but I'm not that au fait with the DNS template so I don't want to start fiddling. My service provider suggested I look at http://kb.odin.com/en/1365 which doesn't appear to be related as I have no duplicate domains under my subscription.

Following on from this the VPS is my personal server and I host a few sites for friends consequently I only have the one subscription. I've been advised that I should have one subscription per domain. Is that correct information?

I could do with some suggestions for which log files to start poking around in.

Thank you.

Hi,

I've managed to solve the domain and / or subscription creation issue by setting my DNS Template back to the defaults. My sites are still up so I'm assuming all is well after propagation.

Any advice on the 'one subscription per domain' query would be appreciated, though. I'm wondering if there's a best practice or if I can carry on adding domains to a single subscription. No one else has an account on the VPS except for me.
