• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Folder /bin /usr /var etc. created within domain folder

Fritz MichaelG

Basic Pleskian
Within Plesk 11 I created a new Subscription. This creates a new folder like /var/www/vhosts/domain/ of course. This folder only contains

/error_docs
/httpdocs (unless specified otherwise)
/logs

However, after making some more settings within Plesk, I suddenly also have these folders unter /var/www/vhosts/domain/:

/bin
/dev
/etc
/lib
/lib64
/tmp
/usr
/var

But I don't know which setting caused this to happen. Is this normal?

Oh I see. That's weird. Other domains on the server have chrooted shell access enabled too (since it's enabled by default within the service plan), but they do not have these folders.

Also the option is set to "Can allow access to any type of shell", not chrooted, mm.
