FreeBSD 6.1 & 8.1 probs

So I almost got all aspects working so far from a fresh install except the following.

1. Postgress - Default conf was never generated and patches never applied.

/usr/local/share/postgresql/postgresql.conf.sample
/usr/ports/databases/postgresql73-server/files/patch-src:backend:utils:misc:postgresql.conf.sample
/usr/ports/databases/postgresql74-server/files/patch-src:backend:utils:misc:postgresql.conf.sample
/usr/ports/databases/postgresql80-server/files/patch-src:backend:utils:misc:postgresql.conf.sample
/usr/ports/databases/postgresql81-server/files/patch-src:backend:utils:misc:postgresql.conf.sample
/usr/ports/databases/postgresql82-server/files/patch-src:backend:utils:misc:postgresql.conf.sample

Where can I find the standard postgresql.conf so I can apply the patches.

2. Cant find the proper flag to get psa-spamassassin to start on reboot. Anyone have the correct rc.conf flag for that?

3. Plsk updates is not working and is generating directories w/ non-existent UID/GID

Error: Can't open pkgtools.conf template /usr/ports/tmp_extract_ports_bzyWue/psa-ports-8.1.0/local/etc/pkgtools.conf.

-rw-r--r-- 1 10007 4001 850 Nov 30 07:36 pkgtools.conf.templ
-rw-r--r-- 1 10007 4001 164 Nov 30 07:36 supfile.templ

4. Finally can't remove current installed modules.

Error: Unable to remove module firewall: modulemng is failed --remove --module=firewall

Any help would be great as these are new errors for me in a FreeBSD install.

Cmon man someone has got to know how to fix these. Calling SWSoft support Cmon?

Cmon Man

This is the most pathetic form of support I have ever gotten for one product. Considering Plesk was first designed on FreeBSD I would think I would get a response. Does this thread reflect what your support technicians know about your product. As a tech who works closely everyday with your product as one of our flagship offerings for our hosting sector, I am underly shocked at your total lack of support for your product. I have yet to get a single answer about these issues and none have been addressed by you techs. Once again this is another reason why we never wanted to leave 7.5.4 and yet another reason why we should drop your product altogether. Does this mean I have to use our corporate support account to get you lazy people to do anything.

Worthless control panel !!! if I cant update it !!!

Error: Can't open pkgtools.conf template /usr/ports/tmp_extract_ports_UnQSSY/psa-ports-8.1.0/local/etc/pkgtools.conf.

Maybe you should test your products before you release them.

Sincerely another SWsoft unhappy customer.

Please consider that Sw-Soft dont provide support via this forum.

If you need official support - then you need to contact Sw-Soft via their ticket system.

I have this problem too.

We use FreeBSD because we don't want "institutional support". If I want support I gonna use Solaris or AIX whitout Plesk.

I am having the exact same problems

1) The updater is broken
Error: Can't open pkgtools.conf template /usr/ports/tmp_extract_ports_amHJqY/psa-ports-8.1.0/local/etc/pkgtools.conf.

ksdhost# ls -l /usr/ports/tmp_extract_ports_amHJqY/psa-ports-8.1.0/local/etc/
total 4
-rw-r--r-- 1 10007 4001 850 Nov 30 08:36 pkgtools.conf.templ
-rw-r--r-- 1 10007 4001 164 Nov 30 08:36 supfile.templ

2) PMM is broken

Error: Unable to create migration session: Unable to run 'supervisor '/usr/local/psa/PMM/var/2006-12-27-13.08.30.573063'': Empty error message from utility.

3) Removing modules is broken
Error: Unable to remove module firewall: modulemng is failed --remove --module=firewall

(i was able to remove it by hand with pkg_delete, then updating my rc.conf by hand) But it still should work from the https control panel

I wanted to give an update for the other freebsd admins out there that are having trouble with these same problems:

I sent in a ticket and i got some fast responses from Andrej. After several emails back and forth here is the outcome.

1) yes the plesk autoupdater is broken, you need the newest version 3.1.1 (i was not given a link to where i can get it) I was told that it would be included in the next hotfix.

2) The modulemng error is caused by a wrong name used while deleting modules. The issue was reproducedable on their test servers and has been reported to a developer.

3) The PMM error i was receiving was becasue python2.4 was compiled without threads support. I am still waiting on an answer to if this will be included in the next hotfix, or if i will have to just recompile python2.4 by hand after every plesk install.

I am very impressed and happy with the response times i got, and the success of the technical support engineer had.

I suggest everyone on these forums that has a problem submit a ticket untill their problem is solved: https://helpdesk.swsoft.com/

I have had problems since purchasing plesk 8.0.0. Mostly because they seemed to rush the product without adequate testing.

That said, i knew what i was getting into, based on my research and reading on what others said about previous releases on these forums. As soon as i see fit, my plesk box will be put into a production environment.

I refuse to pay for their support, as i feel that aside from coding errors / bugs, the forum support structure is enough until the release itself is stable and reliable (which its not, currently). You can blame swsoft for misleading customers. But people should really research what others have to say about a product before purchasing it, generally speaking.

autoinstaller broken

Download the autoinstaller from the swsoft download page.
The one that it installs is broken. So using the updater via the plesk admin will not work. Using the autoinstaller in /usr/local/psa/* will not wotk either.

You might want to allow the autoinstaller update the ports collection. This will help resolve can not find dist errors.
