FTP Problem

Hi Guys,

I had to do a full server rebuild today. When I installed Plesk, the FTP service wasnt installed in IIS. Now none of my users can log into FTP.

How can I re-configure this to work?

Shane

Try doing this:

1. install FTP now in IIS
2. run %plesk_bin%\ftpmng --install
3. run >%plesk_bin%\ftpmng --reconfigure-all

Let me know how this goes.

Hi,

I did try that and it did not make any difference at all. I have fixed it however. The cause of the error was that the actual windows logon accounts for the FTP had been created but disabled when I did the restore. I wrote a script to set them all back to enabled and its working fine.

It seems as though this backup/restore utility is pretty poor. It does not seem to have ftp config and definetely does not save file permissions/mail enable settings (such as home domain etc)...

Very poor...

Unfortunately you are right, Plesk does not backup/restore permissions of files. However, what MailEnable settings is not restored? Do you mean your custom settings?

Well... What program should than we use for backuping file and folders to obtain permissions?! It would be enough to backup "Inetpub" and everything within - only permissions should be also saved?

Any sudgestions?

Thanks

Hmm... 3 months ago I bought v8.1 - I'm wondering if I will again have to pay extra $$$$ for v8.2 or will I be able to obtain it within 1 year of free upgrades?!...
