• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

FTP-Repository: Can't change directory

Hi all,

Since 8.1 I'm unable to change the FTP-Repository directory:

In Domains > mydomain.com > BackupManager > FTP Account Settings

FTP server hostname or IP: myexternalbackupspace.com

Directory to store backups: /testdir

When I'm trying to change '/testdir' (which is actually the dir) to '/' plesk writes: Failed to write test data to the FTP account ftp://myexternalbackupspace.com/: delete error: RETR failed: 425.

On other domains I can use the '/' for backups.

Any ideas?

r.

This worked for us, it might help you.

Remove the leading "/" from the directory name. That is, if you want to put something in a directory, just type the directory, not /directory.

If you want it in the FTP user's root, just make the directory box blank. No /
