Hi All
First off let me give you some information before I explain my problem.
I have a domain registered www.iform.co.za which controls our server, the server name is alpha.iform.co.za.
We recently had troubles updating the domain from another server to ours, which caused our server to be down for 2 days, due to dns resolving as the other server was switched off before the transfer was successfull.
Then we logging into the server i came acros the issue of our main dns settings being blank, I never set the dns up on the server but also could not remember what they were, and stooped of me never made a note with theses settings.
But after a couple of hours of blood, sweat and tears I got the websites and email services running again.
The problem that has came to front now is ftp'ing to any website on the server to upload updates to it. Ive checked ftp usernames and passwords, they are all correct!
When connecting to the server via fillzilla ftp, using the ftp details it simply spits out, cannot connect to server.
It resolves the clinical name of alpha.iform.co.za to the server IP 72.26.226.146 but says cannot connect. First instinct would tell me that that is u & p error, but it was not.
The same user name and password works for the webstat.
ftp in the main settings for dns is setup as the following:
ftp.<domain> CNAME alpha.iform.co.za
But as said above when connecting, its says cant connect.
I am very new to plesk, so if someone has awnsers for me, please can you be simple about it...
