twomt-heuser

New Pleskian
TITLE:
Generation of plesk-ext-docker.list broken
PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE:
Product version: Plesk Onyx 17.8.11 Update #29
Update date: 2018/11/09 16:35
Build date: 2018/11/02 10:09
OS version: Debian 9.5
Revision: 2e1d5ab416b16b21d683aa65539ebdc0c0e63882
Architecture: 64-bit
Wrapper version: 1.2
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
docker-engine + extension were installed before.
Docker was removed via update&upgrade which left docker-engine still on the system up&running

Trying to re-install the docker extension results in an error because whatever is creating the sources.list file does not insert the correct codename.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Remove "Docker" via Update&Upgrades
Reinstall "Docker" via Update&Upgrades
ACTUAL RESULT:
W: The repository 'Index of linux/debian/ n/a Release' does not have a Release file.
E: Failed to fetch Index of linux/debian/dists/n/a/stable/binary-amd64/Packages 404 Not Found
E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
ERROR:root:Command '['apt-get', '-qq', 'update']' returned non-zero exit status 100
exit status 1
Cannot install docker-engine

And in panel under "Docker":
Warning: Local Docker node is missing.
EXPECTED RESULT:
Docker-Extension connected back to the installed docker-engine so it's usable in the Panel.
Code:
/etc/apt/sources.list.d # cat plesk-ext-docker.list
deb [arch=amd64] https://download.docker.com/linux/debian stretch stable
ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Code:
/etc/apt/sources.list.d # cat plesk-ext-docker.list
deb [arch=amd64] https://download.docker.com/linux/debian n/a stable
YOUR EXPECTATIONS FROM PLESK SERVICE TEAM:
Help with sorting out
Confirming Bug

Bug was confirmed and submitted as PPPM-9616.
Thank you.

Any updates on this one?
6 Months and we still can't use Docker and can't fix it ourselfs either because the place where I *think* it goes wrong (post-install.php) is encrypted.

So we're at 12 months now, we even upgraded to latest plesk on our server (Plesk Obsidian Version 18.0.20 Update #2) in hopes of it getting fixed: still broken, still resolves the installation name to "n/a" and ends up with a broken process to install the docker extension.

btw: is there any way to check the status of the mentioned ticketNo?

sooo... another 1.5 years later and not finding the ticket# in the changelog. Any chance for it to get fixed in the future?
What's the current status? Still only "forwarded to devs"?

Still only "forwarded to devs"?

It's in good company with Forwarded to devs - Let's Encrypt wildcard certificates are not issued for domain aliases and probably many others.

Apparently sometimes "forwarded to devs" means "won't fix any time soon".

What I find particularly frustrating is the canned answer "check the change log": we find a bug, we go through the paperwork of filing it filling all the dots, but apparently we don't deserve the kindness of a follow-up.
