Question GEOIP in IPtables

OMG. This has been a feature that has been asked for at least 6 years ago. It can be simply addressed by adding the geoip module to nginx in the Plex distro.

Not very useful and will most likely never be supported by Plesk, as this is not a solution that would work in a broad environment.

what about users that use Apache2 only, without having Nginx installed?
or users with Litespeed?
or users that wanna block FTP or Email access?

All of those ^^ are very valid points, agreed ;) but.... the nginx module 'part' solution is much better than the current, long standing 'no' solution and it is not difficult to include in the next Nginx release from Plesk. The amount of sensible 'enhancements' that do stay on #PleskUserVoice for literally: years, doesn't give anyone great confidence that anything will happen soon. This one has been on #PleskUserVoice since way back in 2014 & yes we've added our vote on there...

My comment was directed at the Plesk team.

No it can't, because the GeoIP module is for NGINX Plus, which requires a subscription. One that is probably quite expensive as they don't even list prices on nginx.com.

That's also 100% correct, but Plesk, not being able to successfully negotiate this at their corporate level seems very, very unlikely... There are other, proven & readily available options, but the vast majority of those - ironically - are paid Plesk Extensions. Queue the conspiracy theorists arrival in this thread ;)
