Getting Tomcat to write files

D

double-bogey

I have a shared Tomcat server from my service provider. How do I get the Tomcat server to write files to disk, e.g. uploaded files and custom logs? The pathnames are configured correctly and the directories have 777 access, but the logging eg does nothing and nothing shows up in the Tomcat logs.
