• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

New Pleskian
Hello,

I have a dedicated server with Linux.

I have the following problem. Someone has hack my server and is sending illegal newsletters. My hosting sent me an abuse message and in the mailserver logfiles i see that is sending all the time.

What can i do about that? Can anyone help me?

Thank you!

Hi DimitrisM,

Plesk provides articles with solutions/work-arounds in the Odin/Parallels KnowledgeBase. Due to the case that you don't provide any log - files, nor any configuration files, it is hard to guess, what the cause of your issue(s) are. We really would like to help in case of issue(s), but your problem description isn't giving any facts, where we could start investigations from, to find the cause of your issue(s).

Other usefull links for you, if you don't want to provide log - files / configuration - files here in the forums:

First advice:

If SPAM is sent from an eMail - Account, change the password for this eMail - Account immediately, or/and even consider to lock the depending account(s).

Check your eMail - server configuration and forbid relaying without authentifications.

Use sites like "http://www.mxtoolbox.com" and "http://www.mail-tester.com/" to test your server and it's configuration(s).

If you identified PHP - scripts to send SPAM, consider the suggestions from:

If you would like to help from the forum, you really have to post facts, log - files, configuration - files and other sorts of informations, which helps to investigate your issue(s). Guessing doesn't help at all and just cost a lot of time ( not only from you, but as well from the people willing to help you! ).
