Hiya Folks,

Im new to the whole Plesk software and i need some help setting up my nameservers and that.

At the moment i am using a cPanel server which has the following i.p configuration:

NS1.GBHOSTS.NET
NS2.GBHOSTS.NET

I need my new plesk system to do the following:

NS3.GBHOSTS.NET
NS4.GBHOSTS.NET

I havent a clue how to do it so i am in desperate need.

first you will need to change the domain settings of GBHOSTS.NET to define NS3 and NS4 with their respective IP adresses (we call them glue records).

I recommend you to have the 2 NS running in 2 separate virtual servers, or 2 differents root server (better). To make it easy to start you can define the same IP adress the NS3 and NS4, you give the illusion to 2 have DNS servers but both point to the same.

For NS3 and NS4 give the IP address of your plesk server, you dont need to configure BIND to math the domain name NS3 or NS4, BIND will just listen to port 53 of that IP address.

When this works you must create a slave DNS server for NS4 running on another IP address; you will need to synchronize the CONF and zone files between both.

Good luck!

Philippe
