Question Help to stop incoming spam

D4NY

Regular Pleskian
We are receiveing tons of spam and we are interested to apply SPF spam protection.
At the moment we are using only DNSBL with sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org, nothing else.
How can we configure in the best way our plesk to avoid incoming spam?
Can someone post a working configuration please?

Hi D4NY,

I recommend the following DNSBL 's: cbl.abuseat.org;sbl.spamhaus.org;xbl.spamhaus.org

and we are interested to apply SPF spam protection.
If you want tons of examples, investigations, explanations, suggestions, pls. use as well the Plesk forum search with the example - search - keywords: => https://talk.plesk.com/search/search?&keywords=SPF+DNS+DKIM+DMARC

In addition, you should consider to use IMAP instead of POP3 for mail - accounts with common account-names ( "info" / "webmaster" / "office" / "admin" / ... ) and be sure to move SPAM into your SPAM - folders, so that spamassassin has the chance "to learn" within the daily maintenance task. Don't forget to configure the "learn" - options in your "local.cf" from spamassassin.

It is as well a great help to use additional rule - sets from for example "updates.spamassassin.org", "spamassassin.heinlein-support.de", "sought.rules.yerp.org", "sa.zmi.at", and other preferred rule - sets ( I'm pretty sure, that you will find rule - sets with italien definitions with Google... ;) ) ( updated regulary with cronjobs ). Examples how to setup these cronjobs can be read here: => #4

Consider as well to configure your postfix configuration - files with unique settings... pls. read the detailed postfix - documentation ( => http://www.postfix.org/postconf.5.html ) to learn, which settings might help you to fight against spam. :)
