  • Support for BIND DNS has been removed from Plesk for Windows due to security and maintenance risks.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS.

Hiding host name

We are using a dedicated hosting server from a hosting provider.
When we do a ping -a xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (our IP address of the server) we receive unassigned.hostingprovider.net (where hostingprovider.net is the name of the provider). we would like to change this that the reverse ping replies with plesk.domain.com (where domain.com is our own domain name).
I've already changed the hostname in the plesk interface, but this doesn't change this.
Does anyone know how to change this name? or how to disable this that it doesn't return a host name?

You will have to contact your provider to have the rDNS (in.addr-arpa) changed, you cannot do this from Plesk itself, it is outside of control of plesk.
