horde migrate how to?

    Hello,
    I used PMM to migrate my Plesk 8.2 in Linux Fedora 5 to my Plesk 8.2 in Windows Server 2003.

    Everything is working fine, but users lost all of their stored webmail. Is there a way to get it back?

    when I do the selective migration to select "mail messages migration" I have not the option, I have only:

    Plesk 8.2.0 FedoraCore 5 82070706.15
    Dns Migration

    Hello!

    You could use next workaround to solve this problem.

    Change configuration file as described hire

    http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/Plesk8.2/Doc/plesk-win-pmm-guide/45949.htm

    set up backup provider and it's connection settings (do not set up accounts info).

    Then you could use next scenarios.

    1. Run Plesk migration Agent at the computer with Windows OS without any mail server and make usual migration from it.

    or

    2. Use these command line utulities http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/Plesk8.2/Doc/plesk-win-pmm-guide/25500.htm to backup/restore plesk mail content (backup from remote mail server as you set up in configuration file).


    Undo changes made after successeful backup/restore for all Plesk clients you want to migrate mail messages.

    Hi,

    I have tried 2 Scenarios with the configuration file modified:

    1 - I have installed Plesk Migration Manager and no Plesk Migration Agent in my Windows Plesk server. The result is the same. Only migrates from my Linux my e-mail accounts with passwords but no mail.

    2 - I think that to use doclientmailbackup.vbs the source much be a Windows system and not a Linux one, here is the log:

    I dont understand why migrates all e-mail accounts with their passwords and does not migrates the content.

    You also should run this command after successeful migration from Linux. In such case, this command only backup and then restore mail content to you Plesk mail server.

    This command works by client account (all domains of account). Do not run restore mail content twice!

    ok, yhenks, I am doing now the migration of accounts and then i will use doclientmailbackup.vbs to backup content of Linux an restoring it in Windows as you say.

    In my Linux I have only One client with One domain, so I think that not have problem in restoring it in my Windows Client.

    Hi,

    the process work as you say. Only 3 notes for the people that can have the same case:

    - doclientbackup.vbs and docclientrestore.vbs failed on line 91 because migrmng.exe not found. So I copied them to %program files%\SWsoft\Plesk\admin\bin

    - doclientbackup generates the dumpfolder with client name and NativeDump folder, the doclientrestore search in dumpfolder/clientname and PleskDump folder, so I change the name from NativeDump to PleskDump folder and them work fine.

    - I must specify in migrmng.exe.config the accounts info (name & password) to backup them correctly.

    I only dont understand yet because all of this when I have a Plesk 8.2.0 FedoraCore 5 to migrate to Windows Plesk same version and root access to all. It should be automatic. perhaps in Plesk 8.3 ...
